Ginkakuji Onishi was founded in 1953, near Ginkakuji Temple in Kyoto, Japan. For over 70 years, we have dedicated ourselves to selecting the finest ingredients, perfecting our processing techniques, and maintaining rigorous hygiene standards — always working hand in hand with farmers to build a chain of unwavering commitment to quality.
By maintaining a consistent focus from upstream farmers to downstream customers' tables, we have cultivated specialized butchery skills and a deep knowledge of meat that we take great pride in.
More than simply delivering products, we strive to create a brand that conveys the passion and care of our farmers, offering true cultural value through food.
At Ginkakuji Onishi, we embody the spirit of "Farm to Table," and will continue to challenge ourselves in ever-expanding fields while remaining deeply connected to our local communities.


Our Journey to Singapore
In 2019, Ginkakuji Onishi opened its first overseas branch, Katong Main Branch, in Singapore. Driven by a strong desire to directly deliver the dedication and craftsmanship we had built in Japan, we decided to open our own store overseas.
As the first Japanese-style butcher shop in Singapore, we bring the techniques and commitment cultivated in Japan directly to our customers. We offer not only carefully selected Wagyu beef and processed products, but also a range of seasonings, delivering a complete food culture experience.
In 2022, we opened our second outlet at West Coast Plaza,
creating an environment where customers can enjoy authentic Wagyu and processed products as a natural part of their daily lives.
Staying true to our founding philosophy of "Delivering Happiness Through Food," we will continue to enrich everyday dining experiences for our customers in Singapore.
